All New Episodes...Of the Ben Show!

We took this video a while ago. Ben had never taken both feet off the ground when jumping. This video was the first time he actually did. He is too funny to us. He keeps us cracking up!

I had rolled Ben down the hill...he loved it, so I had my sister start him, so I could film it. He's so funny, and such a happy kid! We love him, love him. love him.

Grandma Lana bought Ben this little pool that he just LOVED. He played in it FOREVER! I love his cute little body -his belly cracks me up. (Notice how white he is?! -I wonder who's kid he is. :D)

A Cool New Experience.

So Monday I got a call, where I was told "The bishopric would like to meet with you tomorrow...." ~ so, obviously I hung up knowing that I was about to receive a calling.

I do already have one, but it isn't too time consuming, and it's pretty low key. So sure, I could take on another assignment. I was excited, but it's funny how things start popping into your head like...."please don't let it be this calling, or that calling." But at the same time you feel excited to start something new no matter what it is.

Well, I went and was given the calling as a Primary Teacher for ages 9-10! (I LOVE that age too.) I was excited even more than I expected. I wasn't scared at something so unfamiliar as Primary. (Uh how longs has it been? 16-17 years!)

I have taught R.S. before and loved teaching -so, the teaching part doesn't worry me. Plus, I get to do FUN stuff to teach the kids, and won't have to be too rigid, as you might need to be for the adult classes.

AND, Ben will start Sunbeams, as a three year old, in five months, so I will at least get to see him in there when he takes that first big step into "Big-Kidom"

I am excited and will probably start here in the next couple weeks. Yay!

We Have a Break Through!

Little Baby Kade has cut his first tooth two days ago! Yay....and oh no, I'm still nursing. ;D

Anyway, I couldn't get a picture of his tooth to save my life, so I'm posting these --which I took during my attempt. He pretty much felt the way he looks. I had been fiddling with him forever, my fingers prying open his mouth, and the flash was bugging him and he was seeming to say, "Come on mom, enough already." So, I stopped.

I will try again later, but who knows how long it will take to get a pic of his new toother. (It will be when he's leavin' for college probably).

Ben Hidin' Out.

There is a perfect sized space underneath the crib where Ben can climb in and have a hide-away. He doesn't spend a lot of time under there, but when he remembers it, he'll play for awhile.

He can sit up straight and not bump his head, and he can stash a lot of stuff there. It's a pretty perfect set up, for sure.

If only I could find my own little hide-out for some down time alone. Aw, that would be nice. ;D

Whoo-hoo!

So, anyone who has had a kid knows that, with them, comes weight gain.....some of us gain more than others, but still.

Well, lately, my pants have been falling down! Quite considerably! Which means...I'm loosing weight! Whoo-hoo.

I don't know how much, I just know that my pants don't fit. Yay! As soon as Kade is more dependant on baby food than on nursing --I am getting serious again, with the full time exercise and full time good eating habits. Bye-bye pepsi....but not for a little while yet. ;D

Anyway, yay for shrinking bums --mine to be exact.

Another Funny!

(If you haven't read the post below, read that one first, in order to get this one.)

This morning I was letting Ben watch Living Scripture movies. And, he picked "Alma the Younger" (For some reason A.the.Y is his favorite movie and scripture story, he asks for it all the time.) Anyway, he handed me the movie.

I said, "You want Alma the Younger?"
He said, "Yeah. I think I know something about Alma the Younger."
I asked, "What do you know about Alma the Younger?"
Again, he replied, "Something."

And that was it. I have no idea where he got this phrase from. It's too funny, to me.

Funny!

I would put this on Ben's Ben-isms but it wouldn't be as funny.

This morning Ben said (thoughtfully and seriously), "Mom, I think I know something."

I asked him (in his same tone), "What do you think you know?"

He said, "Something."
He said it as if he wasn't sure, but that he knew there was something.

And that was the end of the conversation, he walked out of the kitchen. I was laughing! (It's was probably so funny 'cause I heard it --not as funny typed out.) I wish I always knew just what he was thinkin' and all that he knows. I love kids and the way they work and think. They never stop cracking me up.

Happy Father's Day!

For those of you who know Joe, you know he possesses all the qualities that make up a good dad. Joe is the best, and here are a few reasons why.

He's a deep thinker, which helps him to make correct and wise decisions for the benefit of his children.


He's flexible and fair, yet he has the training needed to keep the kids in line.

He is fearless and would go out on a limb for the sake of his boys.
Joe is strong and would take on the world...or Russians, for his family.



That is, when he's not fighting wild forest fires as a hardworking fire fighter. (This is an actual picture from one of Joe's fires.)


Now Joe isn't perfect. He sometimes deserves the occasional wedgie, and he can be a computer nerd....



But, Joe is still our hero, no doubt about it.
The best thing about Joe, is he is simply a great dad. He loves his sons, and he is the best example of everything right and good. The boys are so lucky, and I know they will look up to him forever.

More of the Kader-Bum Show.

Kade is very quick to laugh. On this particular day, "fart noises" were doing the trick. :D (Which is funny, 'cause the kid is always gassy.) He is such a funny little guy, and I just liked this video. His expressions crack me up. (Oh, and sorry for the shaking camera work....I was doin' the "farting".)

Yay!

I MADE IT!!!

In an earlier post I mentioned how badly I wanted to get to the temple, and I am very happy to say that, while I was in Vegas I was able to go!!! After getting the boys good and tired, fed and down for naps, I left for the temple and my mom watched the boys. I got to do a whole hour of initiatory!!! I was the only one there, and they were hoping someone would show up. So, it was totally meant to be. Heavenly Father really wanted me and needed me to be at the temple that day, and gave me a big window of opportunity to do service!

I got home and the boys were still sleeping. I had tons of time to spare. It felt great getting to the temple. I can't tell you how happy I am. Now, it's your turn people --we're needed! ;D

Body Art!

What started out as fun finger painting turned into paint from head to toe. Ben had the best time painting his entire body. All Grandma and I could do was laugh and film. I think kids should have chances to get as dirty as they want....and, I think they should do it at Grandma's house. ;D

Kade Explainin' Things.

Today we went to the museum with Grandma Lana. The boys a lot of fun. I figured Kade summed up the day the best, so I posted this: his summation.

I Love to See the Temple.

My Two Favorite Temples.
Lately---well, more than lately, for months now the temple has been calling to me. I haven't gone since I was 8 months pregnant with Kade.....so, it's been about 6 months. I have been actually aching to go, but haven't had the freedom enough to get there. I haven't trained Kade to take a bottle very well, so he won't. And, so that limits my time away from him to 2-3 hours.(Drive to St. George + changing + the length of the whole session + the time I'd like to sit and pray afterwards + changing + the drive back to Cedar = not enough time.)

It all makes going to a session pretty hard. I am going to Vegas soon and am bound and determined to go and at least do initiatory. (There the drive isn't an hour just to get to the temple, so it could be possible. I know I shouldn't even complain about an hour drive. Many have it far worse.) And, initiatory doesn't take as long as a session. Cross your fingers for me. I really want to get there.

I have a real testimony of temples. I love them and want to be there. I know how much better my life is when I get to one often. What a blessing they are. I can't say enough. For all you who can get there regularly, GO! And, soon enough I'll be there too. (Twice a month is my dream!)

Ben loves his new soccer/t-ball field. He spends the majority of his days outside now. He loves running around and playing his sports. He is too funny to watch. (I'll post a clip some day.)

Kader-bum is becoming quite the loud babbler. He will "yell babble" all day. It's cute. He is so easy to make laugh and he smiles all the time. Fun times here at the Harris house. It's a great start to a great summer.

"See Ya Later Jake."

My cousin Jake, who has been living with us for the last year, moved out this past week. He's now a cool college kid in his own apartment....instead of living with some old fogies like me and Joe. :)

Jake has been one of Ben's best buddies. Ben LOVED hangin' out with him. Ben would sit forever and watch Jake play Nintendo. He would run to Jake when he got home, give him huge hugs and would always say, "See ya later Jake." whenever Jake would leave for work or school.

When Jake finally left for the last time Ben said, "See ya later Jake." and I know he didn't get that Jake wouldn't be coming home, here, to stay again. I almost wanted to cry for Ben, 'cause he doesn't know that one of his best friends won't be around as often.

Granted, we'll visit Jake in town, and he'll be out to our place every now and then. So, it really is just "see ya later Jake." It was fun having you stay with us.
